Lame Deer was the first one who helped me come closer to our N.A. brothers & sisters.  In his book called; "Lame Deer Seeker of Visions" he speaks about his gun in the Museum of the American Indian in New York. It belonged to his Great Grandfather the famous Chief Lame Deer who gave his name to him & who was shot by mistake. ( You could say he was murdered) "I don't know what right old Bear Coat Miles had, to be that free with other people's property. That gun didn't belong to him. It belongs to me." Lame Deer said. Well i can't tell you if it is still there or if Lame Deer ever received acknowledgement of that fact but he won't be needing it now anyway. He speaks about many things, if you have'nt read it, i can highly recommend it. Geronimo's Blackpowder Musket /Rifle would have been over 20 years old then but still a very accurate long range weapon, which no doubt caused a lot of resistance to the invaders.
